Abstract
This study conducted a systematic review of studies on posttraumatic growth of mental health helping professionals through domestic and international journal articles and theses published in the period of 2009-2019. To select study sample, this study used the methods of PICOS suggested by Cochran Collaboration. The sample consisted of 15 literature (7 domestic and 8 international literature). The findings of this study are as follows; First, regarding a profession type of study sample, 53.5% of the sample was conducted in a single profession and 75.0% was conducted with social workers. Second, as for research methods, the proportion of quantitative studies was greater than that of qualitative studies (86.7% vs. 13.3%). Third, domestic studies focused on primary trauma (71.4%), while international studies focused on vicarious trauma and secondary trauma (87.5%). Fourth, the scope of trauma in domestic studies included client¡¯s violence and suicide, while the scope of trauma in international studies was much broader by including an earthquake and a war. Fifth, the number of environmental factors associated with posttraumatic growth was greater than that of personal factors associated with posttraumatic growth. Based on these results, this study suggests implications for further studies on posttraumatic growth of mental health helping professionals.
